"Worship doesn't have to be a sermon; it just needs to be consistent. This guide removes the intimidation of leading family devotionals. With a simple 15-minute framework for songs, scripture, and prayer, you can engage even the youngest hearts without the pressure of perfection.
Ground Rules
Keep it Short: 3-5 minutes max. Stop before they get bored.
Keep it Active: Toddlers learn through their hands, not just their ears.
Keep it Consistent: Same time, same place (e.g., breakfast table).

Turn lights off. Turn flashlight on. Say "Bye bye dark!"
"God wraps us in His love."
Wrap the child tight in a "burrito." Give a big hug.

Bread
Wash hands together. Watch the bubbles take the dirt away.
"God gives us food. He is the Bread of Life."
Smell the bread. Taste a small piece. Say "Thank you, Jesus."

Lay heads down on the table. Practice being quiet for 10 seconds.
"God made a beautiful child when He made you."
Look in the mirror. Point to nose, eyes, mouth.

Seed
Rub the cotton on their cheek. Be very gentle.
"God makes small things grow big."
Curl up in a ball (seed), then jump up high (tree).
"Jesus gives us living water. He fills us up."
Pour water from a pitcher to a cup. Listen to the sound.
"God heals our owies."
Put a band-aid on a doll or their hand. Kiss it better.

"God's words are sweet."
Feather
Taste a drop of honey/fruit. Smile because it is sweet.
"God watches the little sparrows. He watches you too."
Blow the feather in the air. Watch it float.
"We make a joyful noise to the Lord!"
Ring the bell or tap the spoon loudly. Shout "Yay Jesus!"
"God's law is steady. It does not change."
Let them try to lift the heavy book. Hold it for them.

Point to each person in the photo and say their name.
"You are precious to God."
Hide the coin in your hand. Let them open your fingers to find it.

Cut a piece of fruit. Have the child give a piece to you.

Smell the flower. Touch the petals gently.

Pretend to call God. Whisper a prayer into the phone.
